To Boston on Cimarron River
October 7 - 15, 2021

Join the St. Louis Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society this October for a nine-day trip to Boston, Massachusetts, traveling on the Pullman sleeper Cimarron River for a scenic and relaxing round trip from St. Louis.

The trip begins on Thursday afternoon, October 7, when we board our private rail car at Union Station or the downtown St. Louis Amtrak station. We arrive back at the St. Louis Amtrak station on Friday afternoon, October 15.

Trip Itinerary:
    » Depart St. Louis 5:30 pm Thursday, October 7 and arrive in Chicago late that evening.
    » Enjoy Chicago on Friday, departing for Boston on Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited at 9:30 pm.
    » Travel through Cleveland, Ohio; Buffalo and Albany, New York; and Springfield, Massachusetts with a Saturday evening arrival at Boston South Station.
    » Three full days of sightseeing on your own in Boston. Return each evening to the comfort of your accommodation on Cimarron River, parked at Boston South Station, centrally located in the heart of Boston.
    » Wednesday departure is at 12:50 pm, arriving in the Windy City Thursday morning at 9:50.
    » Depart Chicago Friday morning, October 15 at 9:25 for a mid-afternoon arrival in St. Louis.

Accommodations on Cimarron River are 11 single occupancy roomettes. Two sets of adjoining bedrooms will be ensuited to serve as shared lounge space. Each roomette has its own sink with hot and cold runn­ing water. Cimarron River has a full-size shower and is fully climate controlled.

This is a Picnic Class trip, meaning that passengers are responsible for their own food and beverages. Coffee and juice will be provided each morning, and passengers will have access to the Amtrak café car between St. Louis and Chicago. Access to the lounge and dining cars between Chicago to Boston both directions is not guaranteed. Drinking water and ice, as well as disposable plates and cutlery, will be available on the car. A microwave, toaster, and coffee maker are avail­able. Pillows, towels, and linens are provided on Cimarron River.

Fare is $2,018 per single-occupancy roomette and includes all rail transportation and eight nights accommodations on Cimarron River. Reservations are on a first-come, first served basis. Full payment is required with your reservation*. Make checks payable to St. Louis Chapter NRHS and mail to:

* Important: Full fare payment is due with trip reservation. Verbal reservations will not be accepted – space is not reserved until the full payment is received. The payment is non-refundable if the reservation is cancelled and the space cannot be filled by the customer or the St Louis Chapter NRHS. The full fare will be refunded if the trip is canceled by the St. Louis Chapter NRHS. Passengers may want to obtain trip insurance. Exact dates subject to change per Amtrak train availability. If it is necessary to adjust dates / route, and the new dates cannot accommodate a passenger, the fare will be refunded.
