Later models incorporating features which permitted their use in heavy passenger work. The American Locomotive Company of Schenectady, NY, produced #2933 in 1929. The 185-ton engine is one of only two, modern NYC steam locomotive still in existence. It is regarded as a "time capsule" for the railroad and the type of locomotive it represents, because it exhibits very few updates to its original appliances and running gear. Its claim to fame is that it is the only modern steam locomotive donated for preservation by the New York Central Railroad.
