Built 1942, the engine is an electric locomotive built for the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR),
by General Electric and the PRR's Altoona Works and is one of 139 GG1s.
The GG1's entered service with the PRR in 1935 and later ran on successor railroads The last GG1 was retired by New Jersey Transit in 1983. Most have been scrapped, but 15 are in museums or on display.
It runs on 11,000 volts single phase AC prower and has over 8,000 horsepower.
